Train Carts is an art print I created using an impasto oil technique. This technique uses bold brush strokes and bright colors creating a traditional oil look. This particular art print depicts the Issaquah Railroad Museum, a preservation of a piece of important history for this region. The setting is Issaquah, Washington and the train station museum. Capturing the look of its peak time in history, this art print is of two luggage carts sitting on the platform waiting for the next passenger train to pull in. The Issaquah train station was an important stop along the route from downtown Seattle to the mountain towns in the Cascades. Issaquah sits in the foothills of the Cascades and is now an eastern suburb of the Seattle metropolitan area. The train station has been refurbished and now sits as a museum along the abandoned tracks it once served.

I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
