Artist's Description
Sunset in the Desert is an art print I created using a fauvism oil technique. This technique uses bold brush strokes and bright surreal colors. This particular print depicts a desert sunset. The setting is Mesa, Arizona an eastern suburb of Phoenix. The desert is known for spectacular sunsets. This is due to the high level clouds that move across the upper regions of the sky catching the sun's rays and reflecting them in a brilliant showcase of ever changing color. I tried to capture that look in this scene and framed it with palm trees.
