Phoenix Trotting Park Entrance is a black and white photographic art print of the abandoned horse racing track that was located in Goodyear, Arizona. I used some filters to create an edgy look to this black and white print highlighting the age of the facility. The architectural elements of this shot create an excellent black and white print. The Phoenix Trotting Park was originally built in 1964, opened in 1965 and ran for about two and a half seasons. The large futuristic structure from the 1960’s sat abandoned for many years in an area that at the time was far from Phoenix proper without major roads to access it. Today it has been demolished as it sat at the juncture of two major freeways where new building and population expansion has occurred.

Cop...
I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
