Artist's Description
Open For The Telescope is a black and white photographic art print of the observatory in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. The architectural elements of the observatory create a great black and white photograph. To enhance the art deco look and the age of the building, I used some filters to create more of an edgy look to the final wall art print. Griffith Observatory sits atop Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles Griffith Park. It has a commanding view of the Los Angels basin including downtown, out to the Pacific Ocean. The observatory opened in 1935 and is a major tourist attraction not only for its location, but it has extensive science and space related displays. The architecture of the structure was done in the art deco style popular in that time frame and the look has become an iconic part of the observatory.

About Kirt Tisdale
I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
